THE PROMISE OF HAPPINESS '. (Mt.5 ,1-12a)
There is no man that has as its main goal of life happiness, we are all looking for this precious commodity, we all want to be happy! Yet if we look around us, today more than ever we realize that on the face of people's happiness over sadness, worry that more serenity, more disappointment What a joy. It 'most likely cause of this negative situation is to the wrong path many have undertaken, under the illusion that would lead to happiness. Today's Gospel shows us the right path to happiness, the path of the Beatitudes which calls on all conversion. What has always been considered the greatest man of life, that is, the 'have', the "power" and "pleasure", you find that it is a disappointing road that leads to happiness and not elsewhere. That's why we call the Beatitudes a conversion! The apparent stupidity and weakness of the Beatitudes reveals the true wisdom and true power of Jesus' teaching The happiness that Jesus offers us in the Beatitudes is true for the simple reason that they do not trivialize life and not shut their eyes to the problem of evil. In contrast, the happiness that the world promises not take into account of all reality, pretends not to see the pain and suffering. Precisely because this is a misleading and false happiness. The Beatitudes the Lord offers look into the face of evil, take him head on, confront him and won with the weapons of love. In fact, Jesus was poor with the poor, gentle with the gentle, suffering with the suffering, hungry for justice with those who hunger for justice, pure of heart are the pure in heart, persecuted for justice for the persecuted Justice, indeed, showed them a new way to experience these negative situations, and addressed not as a misfortune, but as valuable opportunities to gain the palm of humanity, with a unique ability to make even what bliss, instinctively, is unacceptable. The Beatitudes, by faith, hope and love, with Jesus as teacher and witness, become the path of true happiness. In the context of our society it seems interesting to underline the relevance of the beatitudes two in particular: that of the poor and the persecuted for the Gospel. Listening to the first beatitude compels us to search for the most current and dramatic human poverty, with the intent to be closer to these "brethren" as Jesus calls them, and with the knowledge that we will be judged on love. The bliss of being persecuted for the Gospel should make us open our eyes to the witnesses present who, in different parts of the world are dying because of Christ. This we must push their testimony to be credible witnesses and not "warm" as often happens.

ILLUMINATED AND THEN CALLED (4.12 to 23 Mt)
Today's liturgy, through the symbol of light, highlights the new situation that has come to be created among people with the coming The image of the light of Jesus expresses in a convincing way the new course of history: "The people who lived in darkness have seen a great light for those who lived in the region and shadow of death light has arisen." With the coming of Jesus is as if a great light had turned on all the face of the earth and especially in the hearts of men, but need to ask specifically what constitutes this light. Surely this is the word of Jesus: is his word that illuminates and brings light into the world and in the hearts of men, in fact, in the Gospel we read: "From that time Jesus began to preach and say ..." And the content of this word is the call to conversion: "Repent , for the kingdom of heaven is near. " Nothing is more revealing of the Word of Jesus to understand what is good and fight evil. But the Word of Jesus, in order to be effective, must be upheld and someone has to proclaim it. This then is the reason why Jesus, the beginning of his public ministry, the first call after call to conversion and those who will become the witnesses of his words: "Come behind me, I will make you fishers of men. " Notice how Jesus did not say, "I will make you rich," or "will ensure success and fame" and even "save you from disease." Jesus simply ensures that there will be other people to accept his word and to follow the path of conversion. Today, throughout the diocese of Novara, we celebrate the "Day of the Seminar" to remind each and every duty to provide practical support for this important structure of our local Church and to pray that are never less priestly vocations to serve the community on our territory. The Lord has called throughout history, call today and will continue to call people to be with Him and proclaim the Gospel. We are confident that there are still young people are able to welcome His call to live and bear witness with readiness, depth and courage.

The Lamb He takes away from trouble. (Gv.1 0.29 to 34)
This Sunday We have already brought to the second stage of ordinary time, but the context of the message that is being proposed is still that of Jesus' baptism last Sunday. The Gospel of John uses the image of the lamb to present Jesus as the one who came to take away the sin of the world: "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" This is an image that at that time was very familiar and, therefore, could be understood more easily in its meaning. The lamb was the animal "sacrifice," because it was actually sacrificed in the Passover celebration to signify the covenant God had made with his people, after having freed from slavery in Egypt. With the same efficiency, but this time in person, in his Son Jesus, God completes his plan of salvation through the liberation of all mankind from their sins. Today the significance of this gentle animal image and willing to sacrifice, it is less clear, because in everyday life do not happen to us almost more than to see a lamb in the flesh. However the meaning remains the same victim, due to Jesus who offers himself for the salvation of humanity. Already since the beginning of his public ministry we understand clearly that the task of Jesus and above will not be easy as the final outcome of a total offering of himself. To support and carry out a mission so busy it needed a force that could guarantee only the Spirit of Jesus: "I contemplated the Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and remain upon him." The Spirit is "possession" of Jesus and "remains on him" until the end, when they deliver it to the Father, from whom he had received, "and he bowed his head, gave up his spirit". No man would ever be able to erase the sins of mankind, the Lamb has the power to remove from the shoulders of each of the heavy burden of sin and allow us the life of a truly free men. Only the Lamb, the innocent and meek, could free us from the power of evil and death, only the power of the Spirit led Jesus to the end, so how can it transform the lives of men with hope, joy and peace.

The Committee for the patron saint festivities in April held its first meeting last Monday, January 10. The main decision was to move the events a week, doing so hinges on Sunday, May 1, because April 24 falls on the celebration of Easter.
Soon we will meet again to go into details, but now need the help and commitment of new people who can replace the many who, for various reasons, are no longer present. In this regard, it is important to remember that the feast of St. George, with its various activities, has always been a major source of funding for the works of the parish, and in particular for the payment of bank loans in recent years that have allowed the creation of new oratorio.

SERVO FOR LOVE (3 mt from 0.13 to 17)
Today, with the feast of the Baptism of Jesus, we conclude by the liturgical season of Christmas. After celebrating the birth of Jesus and acknowledging Him as the Son of God, today we discover that we too can live as children of God Jesus, giving solidarity with sinners who need salvation, makes possible a new relationship with God, marked by the gift of the Spirit and the neighborhood. Coming to be baptized by John, Jesus is acting in person and makes a clear choice: it dissociates in the name of his innocence, from a sinful people and a crowd of penitents, but wants to stick to their desire to renewal by putting everyone else in the group of people going to be baptized. Nor is the strength of John: "I am that I need to be baptized by you, and come to me?" Can avoid this choice: "Leave it for now, because that should fulfill all righteousness." Jesus, when it comes to doing the will of the Father, is adamant, uncompromising and resolute! The righteousness of Jesus, therefore, means full obedience and total commitment in doing the will of God, through solidarity with a people oppressed by guilt and need of forgiveness. Jesus did not assume a privileged position in comparison to the misery of man, but rather as obedient servant of the Lord, it will charge our infirmities and illnesses, until the full completion of solidarity which is death on the cross. The Servant, of whom the prophet Isaiah, Jesus is no doubt that the Father receives a calling to fulfill a mission of healing and atonement of the sin of all humanity. But the most interesting thing is certainly the way in which he completes the mission without violence, without coercion, but through weak means of proven efficiency, "Do not cry or lift up the tone, will not make his voice heard in the street, not break a bruised reed, nor quench a flame from a wick pale. " This is the power of love, the love that can pierce the skies to allow men to meet again with God: "And behold, the heavens were opened for him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming on of him. " What pops up on Jesus is no longer the dark sky of the flood that destroyed everything but the sky is the dove that brings the spirit and allows people to start a new life of God's children
